Take Creative Action

In the Take Creative Action section I chose to put in my AP Music Theory final in which I had to create a parody of a song with a partner. Creating something like this takes a lot of creativity, time, and effort. Not only did we have to make our own parody, but we had to make a music video of it as well which takes even more creativity! This final was fun and took a lot of imagination and inspired a spark of creativity to do it more often.

Also for this section I chose to include my final for my English 1301 class in which our professor gave us two parables. For our final we had to read one of them and use our imaginations to try to interpret the story. This assignment took a lot of thinking and to come up with a creative answer was interesting to say the least. This assignment was the next best thing to my parody.

Lean with it, Rock with it (Parody)

Lean wit It, Eat wit it

Chorus

Lean with eat with it (x8)

Verse 1

I bounce in MacDonald’s so the homies call me hungry

Waiting up in line and I’m looking for a big mac

Yup in my white tee

I get grease on that

And I keep a big mac

O I think they like that

Before I leave the house

I’m slurping on a shake and I’m hungry than a mug so don’t try and steal my plate

And I can lean with it

And I can eat with eat

Eat so dang hard you break your stomach with it.

Verse 2

Ay gon’ lean with it, ay gon’ eat with it

Eat so damn hard you break yo stomach with

Pull up yo jeans with it

Don’t want no green in it

And it the food got green in it we ain’t eatin it

If you don’t wanna eat

Then I’ll eat it for you

Perfect example; watch me take that big mac out yo hand

Once you see me hit the spot you gotta watch yo food

B nugget down street with hot and spicy

Chorus

Lean with it eat it (x8)

Verse 3

Bro I really want some soda pop can we go to mikky d’s,
orange Fanta, Dr. pepper, diet coke, and ice tea
I think I’m gonna get some good eats, then I eyed a quarter pounder next to a big and tasty
I pulled out pennies pulled out nickels and dimes out my socks
they looked at me like when is this guy gonna stop
They call me copper ankles I gotta whole lotta cents
but now I paid for my burgers and now I’m low on rent

Verse 4

so I’m tippin to mikky d’s, for a double extra cheese
Cause I’m a dollar menu millionaire and my belly is on E
I keep a full roll of quarters and my coupons in my pants, I’m in da middle of da line, and I’m just waiting to advance
Now you can come along, for some cheap eat sensations
if you cut me in line then we’re gonna have a situation
Boy I’m all in the front orderin like its whatever
but I gotta go back because the chick forgot to put on my cheddar

Chorus

Lean wit it, eat wit it (x8)

“A Parable”

“Buddha taught in a sutra and in his teaching he taught a parable about a man. This man got himself into some trouble when he encountered a tiger. The man ran from the tiger while the tiger ran after him. The man came to a sort of cliff and found a vine and swung himself over the edge leaving the tiger above him. The man looked down only to find another tiger at the bottom waiting to devour him.  To make matters worse; along came two mice, one black and one white, and they began to nibble at the vine that sustained the man. The man saw a very nice looking strawberry close to him. He held the vine with one hand; he picked the strawberry with the other. How sweet it tasted!” (“A Parable” paraphrased: Taught by Buddha).

In this parable you find a man in trouble, and by the end he is eating a strawberry and exclaiming, “How sweet it tasted!” Despite it all; even though he was in the deepest of trouble till the end he decided to see the bright side of things or the silver lining. I interpreted this parable as a lesson to show that no matter what you may go through in life; there is always a bright side to things. Furthermore the animals or dangers, troubles, etc. in life are your negative influences and they are there to make it seem like there is no way out of any situation you go through.

Moreover, looking at this parable as a whole I believe Buddha’s story represents the life of people. Even though we probably won’t encounter wild animals, we could encounter virtual wild animals because as previously stated they represent the strongholds in our lives.

Also I’d like to point out that the vine would represent our beliefs. In life we like to “hang on” to our beliefs because we find a refuge and comfort in them. They can help us in times of trouble, but they can also be tested.

The things that test our beliefs would be the two mice. Although we have certain beliefs that can’t be taken away it doesn’t mean that they can’t be tested. As the man did in the parable; he held on tight and chose to pick the sweeter things in life.
